As one kind of general plastic, polypropylene is widely used in each domain of industrial production. The non-metallic mineral powder, after surface modified, is filled in the polypropylene. It can bring not only the decrease of production cost, but also the better performance of the composite system. So the study on the enhancement of intensity and toughness of polypropylene filled with non-metallic mineral powder is a heat-researched problem. In this paper, through adding different content of calcium carbonate, wollastonite and talcum powder into the composite system, I have studied the mechanics performance and the interface mechanism of the composite system. In order to understand thoroughly the major results achieved in enhancement of mechanical capabilities of the polypropylene filled with the non-metallic powder, this paper has researched deeply the interface mechanism through combining experiments and measure means with theory analysis, and tried to give a further explanation and demonstration about improving of the macroscopic performances of composite material and to offer a theoretical basis for improving material's mechanical properties. Theses studies are new and show some innovation in related field. Achieved results as follows: 1. Through modification,the polypropylene (PP) may remarkably enhance the material's performance and so as to satisfy the requirements of automobile, washer operation and so on. In this paper, I proposed the idea that through the non-metallic powder modify the PP and then improve the material's performance, at the same time, I systematically examined the change of mechanical properties of PP that brought by the non-metallic powder. 2. The adding of the modified calcium carbonate can't improve the tensile strength of PP, but can obviously improve the toughness of PP. To wollastonite, the best recruitment is 15%,in this time, its intensity and toughness surpasses pure PP. But to talcum powder, the best recruitment is 25%,and gain the same goal. 3. By means of scanning electronic microscope, I have done some observation and researches on the scattering property of modified non-metallic powder and the cohesive property between modified non-metallic mineral powder and polypropylene. The results have manifested that if non-metallic mineral has better function on PP, the scattering property of modified non-metallic powder and the cohesive property are better. It also proved that cohesive property is a imported factor in deciding whether the modified mineral does play the role. 4. The research of this paper has provided a new idea for intensive processing of the mineral resources and the improvement of material's performance, and has laid good foundation for industrial production.
