Spunbond nonwovens were produced by spunmelt technology, which is a leading nonwoven processing. This processing adopted the thermoplastic polymer as raw materials through melt spinning and drawn lapping, and then the fabric-like material is consolidated by hot rolling or acupuncture or spunlace. The PP spunbond nonwovens have been widely used in packaging materials, decorative materials, medical materials, sanitary products, geotextiles, filtration materials, and other fields. However, due to extensive use, the waste degradation problems caused by the white pollution of soil has also brought a lot of harm to the biological environment. The development of the polypropylene spunbond nonwovens modified by inorganic powder as additives reduced the use of polymers, saved the oil resources, reduced production costs and maked products after fast photo-oxidation degradation. Meanwhile, inorganic powders can be separated from the spunbond nonwovens under the effection of the environmental conditions for a long time. The promotion of this material consumption with no pollution is satisfied by the environment, which can be used as an environment-friendly material. This paper focuses on the processing and the influence of the property of the polypropylene spunbond nonwovens modified by inorganic powder which was based on negative pressure air drawing technology by the calcium carbonate mass fraction.During the processing of the modified PP spunbond nonwoven, the process parameters include metering pump speed, spinning temperature, quench air temperature and speed, draft pressure, orthoterion slit width, spinning speed, nets shade speed, hot rollers pressure and temperature, etc. This paper mainly studied the cabinet temperature, quench air speed and up/ down roller temperature through the orthogonal experiment and obtained the optimization of process parameters of the modified PP spunbond nonwoven. The properties of its filament linear density, permeability, thermal properties, rheological properties, crystallinity and degradation and aging properties weren't only analyzed, but also the relationship between the different mass fraction of inorganic powder calcium carbonate and product performance. The results showed that: when the modified PP spunbond nonwoven's square gram was small, the breaking strength decreased or increased corresponding to the change of the calcium carbonate. While the square gram was high, the breaking strength would first increased then decreased. Meanwhile the mass fraction of calcium carbonate and the light time also had an impact on the crystallinity, but also accelerated the photoaging and degradation of the modified PP spunbond nonwovens. The study shows the basic causes of the forming of such relationship and will have the direct guiding function to the practical production.
