Aluminizing is one of reinforced treatments on metal surface. To pure copper, aluminizing can improve its wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant. Aluminizing-internal oxidation technique can be used in fabricating AL2O3 surface dispersion copper matrix conductive material. The Cu-AL2O3 alloy has been used in industry widely, as a functional material and a frameworked material. In present, the studies of copper aluminizing technics and properties of aluminizing copper are on the first step in the whole world. So it is necessary for copper aluminizing technics to be improved and for properties of aluminizing copper to be more studied. In this paper, a new aluminizing method—copper gas-aluminizing is presented.And we design the tester of copper gas-aluminizing by ourselves. Besides,we have done some groping aluminizing experimentations, and gotten some experiences for the study on copper gas-aluminizing technics in the future. Traditional solid aluminizing technics is improved partially. Instead of pure Al powder, the main reactant of aluminizing is CuAl alloy powder. By orthogonal experiments, optimal condition of solid aluminizing is studied. And the aluminizing copper samples whose surface is of high quality have been gotten under the optimal conditions of solid aluminizing. The aluminizing layer is made of α—Cu phase structure and its thickness is all over 65μm. The results of 500℃~800℃oxidation test show that the oxidation-resistant of aluminizing copper is better than that of copper. When the temperature is below 500℃, the oxidation-resistant of aluminizing copper is quite evident. But when the temperature rises, the oxidation-resistant of aluminizing copper is weakening gradually. The corrosion velocity of aluminizing copper is lower than that of copper in Na2S-NaCl-H2O system. Increase in concentration of Na2S and temperature can accelerate the corrosion velocity of aluminizing copper. But when temperature is below 75℃, the corrosion velocity of aluminizing copper is almost not influenced by the temperature. When temperature exceeds 75℃, the corrosion velocity of aluminizing copper increases rapidly. The influence of concentration of NaCl to the corrosion velocity of aluminizing copper is not evident. The results of corrosion-resistent of aluminizing copper have been proved by electrochemical tests in Na2S-NaCl-H2O system.
