The cartridge receiver, which is cast in K423A superalloy by investment casting, is one of the core components of the aeroengine. It is a complex, net shaped, thin wall and integral precision investment casting with requirement of high dimensional accuracy and metallurgical quality.The results show that the pouring temperature and shell mould temperature have obvious effect on the microstructure and properties of K423A superalloy. The grain size, secondary arm reduced and the carbide, y' phase tended to well-distributed with the descending of the pouring temperature or the shell mould temperature. The proper pouring and shell mould temperature have been suggested, so that both satisfied microstructure and excellent mechanical properties of superalloy K423A can be achieved.The investment mould was prepared by the technology of rapid prototyping. The satisfied surface roughness and dimensional precision of the mould was achieved by using the LPS powder, improving the molding processing parameter and proceed by the wax immersion post treatment.The results show that the molten metal can be leaded into the mould simultaneously and smoothly by using the united-in pouring gating system, which can reduce the numbers of the hot spot, porosity and crack that are harmful to the castings. By improving the local structure of the mould, the problem that many porosities and cracks were appeared in the root of blade was solved effectively.The casting technological parameters have obvious effect on the metallurgical quality. Generally, these parameters are determined on large number of tests, which take much time and cost a lot of expense. In this paper, the soft of ProCAST was used to simulate the temperature and flow field and to optimize the parameters of casting, which provided a good support for optimizing casting process and improving products quality.The good castings have been obtained, which have excellently mechanical properties and good metallurgical quality with a high rate of finished products.
