| Environmental risk assessment is a new developing, highly cross-cutting and comprehensive research field. In view of the diversity, emergency, uncertainty and the serious consequences of the environmental accidents, the research and the application of environmental risk assessment were required to be studied further in-depth.Petrochemical projects include lots of toxic, hazardous, flammable, explosive substances, which can easily create potential risk sources, bring about many air pollution accidents such as fires, explosions, leaks and intoxications, poisoning personnel, contaminating environment and damaging ecosystem.Based on "Technical Guidelines for Environmental Risk Assessment on Projects" and in consideration of the own characteristics of the petrochemical projects,a framework of environmental risk assessment on petrochemical projects was established in this paper. As the result of referring to the related reports and comparing them, more mature methods and models of analyzing and forecasting the environmental risk of petrochemical projects were selected. In the present paper,I also explored many basic concepts and their differences related to environmental risk assessment, such as environmental risk indication, value of risk assessment criteria, risk assessment methods, probability of risk accidents and so on.Taking certain projects on environmental impact assessment for a petrochemical company in Lanzhou city, the basic theories, methods, models and the procedure of environmental risk assessment were elaborated in this paper. In conclusion, the framework established in this paper could provide consultation and direction for the study and practice of environmental risk assessment. |
