Pumpkin is the fruit of Cucurbita moschata Duch which belongs to cucurbiaceae family. It is widely cultivated in China who is used as a vegetable as well as a medicine. Pumpkin possesses various efficiencies such as decreasing blood sugar, anticancer, clearing away some toxic materials. In order to investigate the chemical constituents of Cucurbita moschata Duch deeply, the systematic separations by solvent extraction, column chromatography and countercurrent chromatography were performed. Eight compounds were obtained and their structures were elucidated on the basis of various spectral analysis such as 1D-NMR, 2D- NMR, ESI-MS, IR, et al. The compounds were β-Sitosterol (compound 1); Stigmasterol (compound 2); Soya-cerebroside I ( compound 3); 1 -O-β-D-glucoside-2-O- (1 '-tridecanal) -5-docosene ( compound 4 ) ; Momordicoside-cm (compound 5) ; Chromolaevane dione (compound 6); Euscaphic acid (compound 7);...
