With the development of computer technique, control theory, image processing and network, industry control develops quickly. Especially combining ethernet with locale bus, we can realize the unification of monitoring, control, management and decision-making of industry production process. Advanced control techniques have been used widely in Glass-Coating. We have researched SG Glass-Coating automatic control system.This paper introduces the hardware configuration, network configuration and software design of this system.The system we have researched adopts many technologies such as PLC, network, computer monitoring, and the process control instrument, the upper layer introduces the ethernet, and the lower layer is Profibus-DP. The controller is Siemens S7-400 PLC. Using the software such as STEP7 V5.3 , WinCC V6.0, considering the characteristic of Glass-Coating,with optimized design and reasonable disposing line, we have realized the monitoring, control, and management of Glass-Coating. For realizing an integration of a large automatic control system, SG Glass-Coating automatic control system is a good scheme.
