Estuary is a half-closed water body, the primary productivity is far higher than inshore and ocean. Liaohe Estuary has vast marsh and abundant resources. Because of more and more pollutions poured into the sea, the environment of Liaohe Estuary worsens increasingly in recent years. So strength the research of present condition and pollution mechanism and seek for the method of the total amount control is important for the management of ocean environment and the economic development of the Liaohe region.After summarize to the definition, classification and characteristic of the estuary, This paper analyses the topographty characteristics of the Liaohe estuary, and then analyse hydrodynamic of Liaohe estuary and summarize the tidal current. Simulate the tidal current of Liaohe estuary by the mature ADI method and use the dry-wet method to solve the movable boundary. To promote the application of the numerical models, the GIS component (MapX) and an Object-oriented Programming Environment (Visual Basic),and display the tidal results.Make the research of the pollution in the Liaohe estuary, we must analyse the varitey of pollution in the Liaohe river. First this paper summarizes the actuality and varity of the main pollution components which are factor ammonia nitrogen and organic pollutants. And then simulates the varity of pollution density field distribute based on the tidal current, and analyse the general regulation of the pollution in the region.How to distribute the amount of pollutant is the most important part of the pollutant control measure, this paper introduces the basic principle and process of amount control. Aim at the current condition of Liaohe river, for the purpose of improve the water quality, according to the results calculate the reduction quantity and the reduction rates of the pollutant, and make the amount control of pollution. Finally, put forward the improvement suggestion for the environment.
