Air is the most fundamental factor of the environment without which human cannot live. Gas pollution SO2 caused by the burning of coal has resulted in many serious environmental pollution and became a vital important factor that influences and restricts the economy and society progress in our country. As 90% SO2 comes from coal-fired plant, it is a great pressured task for us to control the releasing of SO2 caused by coal-fired plants so far.Wet lime/limestone flue gas desulfuration technology is applied most widely for coal-fired power plants all over the world at present, In order to develop a new wet flue gas desulfuration(WFGD)technology with high reliability, high efficiency and low cost, mechanism and experimental study on the nozzle of spray scrubber, which is main tower in WFGD devices, so far has been carried out.First, a spray tower is built with the experiment object and demand. It is pointed out that L/G is a key factor which can be optimized in practical designment through experiments. Then all kinds of nozzles are introduced, a set of nozzles are designed for this research through referring to related information. In consideration of there being no exact relationships between nozzle dimensions and atomization quality and nozzle design mainly determined by experiment, so we had an experiment to determine various atomization index of nozzles, and understand the influence of nozzle dimensions on atomization performance directly, which provides some valid basis to final nozzle choice. In the end, study on hydrodynamic and desulfurized characteristics of FGD spray scrubber is made by use of optimized nozzle. The experimental study indicates that when flue gas velocity in scrubber is 2.7m/s, L/G ratio 10, SO2 inlet concentration 2100mg/m3 and pH value in cycled bank 6.0, desulfurization efficiency is reached 88% and resistance in the scrubber is 410Pa which is a very good operation point.And through practical spot experiment, it indicates that the operation point in labis instructive to guide the practical designment, and it also proves that the nozzle can keep good performance of desulfurization efficiency in the condition that SO2 inlet concentration fluctuates widely.
