Because of butadiene has high-active unsaturated bond, butadiene is easy to polymerize in high-temperature equipment in the course of butadiene extraction production. The polymer clinging on the surface of equipment influences thermal efficiency. The equipment can be jammed and stopped due to more polymer. Therefore, It is necessary to join the inhibitor in the butadiene extraction process to retard polymerization.In the text, we synthesized 4-Hydroxy-2, 2, 6, 6-Tetramethyl-Piperidine-l-oxyl (TEMPO) according to the mechanism of the forms of polymer and retarding polymerization. Firstly, we selected the catalyst for piperidine oxidation reaction, and obtained the compound catalyst of silicon tungsten molybdic acid. The conditions of synthesizing TEMPO has been tested, It included the reaction temperature, the reaction time, the quantity of material and the oxidant, the quantity of catalyst. It is indicated that The conditions of synthesizing TEMPO affect on yield of TEMPO, The yield of TEMPO can reach to approximately 94%.Based on the polymerization retarder harmony mechanism, we selected some inhibitors for harmony with nitrogen oxygen free radical inhibitor, and appended few dispersing agent to new inhibitor. It is shown the performance of new inhibitor ZJ-509 is great by evaluating compound inhibitor at active state and the industrial application test.Moreover, water in the C4 material is a significant influence factor to the butadiene extract equipment. We did test for the effect of water in the C4 material to the butadiene system. The test result has indicated the water may intensify firmly the butadiene polymerization, but the water was not big to affect new inhibitor ZJ-509. When the water in the C4 material, inhibiting rate of ZJ-509 still could achieve 83%.
