Synthesis And Property Of Earth Chelates Of 1'-Butylferrocenyl-β-Diketone

1 ' -butylferrocenyl-β-diketone was synthesized by esterification, theFriedel-Crafts , Clemmensen reduction ,hydrolysis,acylation reaction, based on ferrocenecarboxylic acid. The paper made better the method of synthesis that have been reported , rose the yields and shorten the time of reaction. Then, forteen novel rare earth chelates of 1' -butylferrocenyl-P-diketone whichhave the general formula Ln(C₄H₉C₄FeC₅H₄COCHCOCH₃)₃·XH₂O where Ln=La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu, X=1/2, 1 or 3 were abtained by the reaction of 1' -butylferrocenyl-P-diketone with LnCl₃·nH₂O (n=6 or 7) over catalyst NaH. The factors affecting thereaction were discussed .The composition and the structure of the chelates have been characterized by elemental analyses, IR spectra, ¹HNMR spectra and DTA-TG spectra.
