Artificial oasis is a basic location in which people who live in arid area can survive,act and develop, because it acts as a kind of particular geographical landscape unit in aridregions and semi-arid regions. The protective shelter-ecological security system of artificialoasis plays a significant role in development of arid regions. This thesis studies on farmlandprotective plantation of the Karamay agricultural comprehensive developmental region,according to the theory of eco-engineering of farmland protective plantation, combining thetheory of landscape ecology and taking GIS as measurement. This thesis researches digitizedmeasure on windbreak porosity, the distance and area of the efficient protection and thestructure of windbreak landscape. The thesis draws to the following conclusions:1.The thesis advances measurement on windbreak porosity combining with digital cameraand software of remote sensing image processing . The results prove that its operating processis simple and convenient, its application is wide, and it can measure accurately and fleetlywindbreak porosity.2.The distinct correlation between windbreak porosity βand number of rows(N),theproduct of individual plant distance and row distance(Q) can be expressed asβ=0.116+0.024N+0.039Q(R=0.529)(0≤β≤1).3.The study prove that at present the program of windbreak is unreasonable in the studyarea. It can not play a role in protecting the farmland within the development area. We shouldreduce main and subsidiary windbreak's space distance in order to reach efficient protection.The main and subsidiary windbreak's space distance should be 270m and 400m in commonlywind speed and medium site condition. The area of the efficient protection is 16.55%, 13.54%,10.65%, 7.54%, 4.87%, 2.59% and 1.12% respectively on the condition that wind speed slowsdown 20%~50%(in 2003).4. At present, the structure of farmland is fallacious, and there are some gaps in thewindbreak. What is more, the quantity of the windbreak is deficient, the distribution ofnetwork is asymmetry, the status of molding is badly. All of these influent seriously the effectscoming from the protective plantation system and landscape.
