Parallel Machine Tool (PMT) is a new generation numerical control machine with 6-DOF, and Pro/E is one of the most popular CAD/CAM software, PMT will be used rationally and sufficiently integrating with Pro/E. In this dissertation, the problem of cutter location file generated in the Pro/E CAD/CAM system that is translated into code identified by PMT NC system is studied, in order to solve the difficult programming problem of PMT spatial free-form surface and improve the machining efficiency. In kinematics analysis of PMT, kinematics model of PMT is constructed. The orientation description method of the mobile platform is introduced. Inverse Kinematics and Forward Kinematics of PMT is studied. The character of NC machine and machining technique character of PMT is analyzed. In the data processing, a serials of algorithm including cutter location interpolation, coordination system transform, kinematics decompose, and interference detection, etc are studied. All kinds of algorithm are designed into modular with good capsulation, ease modification and transplantation. Finally, the function, general structure and process of NC post-processing for PKM and Pro/NCPost are studied, As a result, the postprocessor of PKM based on Pro/NCPost is developed by TCL/TK language. The postprocessor can be invoked in Pro/E, reading tool path data created by Pro/NC, and create NC program to drive the PKM for machining.
