Assessment Of Wetland Eco-environment Quality Of The Estuary Of Minjiang River Based On RS And GIS

The quality of wetland eco-environment refers to the degree of good and bad regarding wetland eco-environment while wetland eco-environment quality evaluation is the judgment and assessment of the degree. The wetland eco- environment quality evaluation makes us in a better position to understand the situation of its ecological system and functions, the pressure the system confronts and its corresponding response so as to provide evidence for the formulation of measures with regard to the protection and recovery of wetland ecological system.On the basis of summarizing the research of wetland eco-environment assessment achieved by scholars form home and abroad. This paper takes the estuary wetland of Minjiang River as a case to assess.the wetland quality in this area.First, this paper analyzes the features of the nature environment, social economic conditions and the situation of wetland resources of the estuary of Minjian River. Then by applying RS and GIS technology and mathematics methods, the paper distills the wetland information from TM image and builds a set of comparatively complete wetland eco-environment assessment index system to assess the quality of the estuary wetland of Minjian River. Finally the paper analyzes the results of the assessment and put forwards some strategies and suggestions to protect and improve the wetland eco-environment.
