Wetland has various ecosystems function and economy,society value. It is a nature resource treasury and living environment that mankind relying for existence and development. The research in wetland has become an emphasis subject and study field. In this paper, the wetland resource in Minjiang River Estuary was monitored by using multi-source remote sensing. The dynamic change on wetland was analyzed by utilizing Markov Process. With the landscape ecology principle, the evolvement process on wetland's landscape pattern was analyzed. The main content is as follows: (1)Multi-temporal remote sensing monitoring on wetland resource in Minjiang River Estuary. Integrating with authoritative wetland classification system and the character of wetland reflected from image, the Minjiang River Estuary wetland classification system was established. Comparing supervise classification,unsupervise classification and layered classification, the research on the wetland information extraction was analyzed. The result indicated that the layered classification method is better. Using layered classification method, the wetland resource information was extracted. (2)The temporal and spatial dynamic analysis on wetland resource in Minjiang River Estuary. Using dynamic degree and Markov Process to analyze the temporal and spatial dynamic change, the result showed that the total area of wetland in Minjiang River Estuary decreasing from 1986 to 2003. The wetland type that probability shifted obviously is paddy field. The area of breed farm has increased dramatically. The area of breed farm in 2003 is 4 times as much as that in 1986. It demonstrated that mankind interfered wetland frequently. (3)The analysis on wetland landscape pattern in Minjiang River Estuary. Based on landscape ecology principle, the landscape pattern on wetland in Minjiang River Estuary was analyzed by utilizing landscape pattern indices. From the analysis result, we can see that the wetland landscape diversity has decreasing, which showed that people's interference activity caused this situation. The number of the whole wetland landscape fragmentation index increasing, which illuminated that some landscape types degenerated or vanished, or the primary landscape types have been partitioning. Landscape dominance index is higher and evenness index is lower than 0.5, which showed that there are advantage landscape types in this area. The water area in river estuary and shallow sea and paddy field get the ascendancy over the wetland types. On the contrary, the proportion of other wetland types is little. This study can not only provide the decision basis for the wetland protection and administration, but also offer reference for wetland exploitation,protection and utilization effectively in the whole province.
