| It goes without saying that Cd and Pb are poisonous to man. The other metal ions such as Ni(II), Co(II), Zn(II) and Cu(II) play important roles in the human environment. The excess or lack of them must lead physiological function to be inordinate. It is essential to study the analytical method of trace heavy metal ion in water. These trace heavy metal ions must be pre-concentrated before determination. There are many methods to pre-concentrate and determine these ions. But most of them could not analyze the trace metal ions.Solvent sublation is a new kind of technique for separation and pre-concentration. Trace metal ions in water could effectively be pre-concentrated by solvent sublation. Compared with conventional separation and pre-concentration methods, solvent sublation offers the following advantages such as fast velocity of separation, large enrichment multiples, high recovery, simple operation, low cost and the prompt treatment for a large number of water samples. Solvent sublation has shown a promise for pre-concentrating trace metal ions in environmental analysis, especially in water quality monitoring. In the article, Pb(II), Ni(II) and Co(II) were enriched in alkalescent condition and Zn(II), Cd(II) and Cu(II) were enriched in weakly acidic condition by solvent sublation, then the analytes were determined by atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) . Dithizone was used as a ligand. Methylisobutyl ketone (MIBK) on the surface of the aqueous solution was the solvent. The experimental conditions including the condition of flotation and determination were optimized. This sublation... |
