Research of wetland change in the past ten years will offer a valuable reference material for rational utilization and protection of the wetland in the future. The development of the remote sensing (RS) and geographic information system (GIS) has created conditions for quantitative research of wetland and, as an important means of studying wetland, bring a new opportunity for the wetland research. This thesis has designed the wetland information system at first. This system is formed by 4 subsystems including serving subsystem, data base administration subsystem, function subsystem and model applying subsystem. In setting up of the system, while choosing tee middle part of Inner Mongolia, Tongliao city and Wu-liang-su lake as typical districts, research of the wetlands' current situation and dynamic characteristics was carried on. The model in the wetland information system is well used in this research. The result of this research indicates that: the area of wetlands in Inner Mongolia dropped notably; Changes of marsh and lake wetlands are remarkable and most of them transformed into cultivated land and meadow; Though the artificial wetland is increasing, it is far unable to remedy reduction of the natural wetland, so the area of wetland still has a trend of reduction. With model analyses, it is learnt that the wetland change of the typical districts is affected greatly by human factors. At the end, the influencing factors of wetland change are pointed out and some protective measures are proposed. |
