As the typical derivatives of Pyridine Sodium 3,5,6-Trichloro pyridin-2-ol ( STCP ) is one of the important intermediates for synthesizing herbicide,fungicide, insecticide and fine chemicals, especially the organic phosphorus insecticide O-O-diethyl-O-3,5,6-trichloro-2-pyridyl phosphoro thioate. STCP can be used as chelating floating agent in the choiceness performance process.According to the difference of the raw material, there are several schemes for preparation Sodium 3,5,6-Trichloropyridin-2-ol including pyridine route, acrylic acid route, benzene trichloroacetate route and trichloroacetyl chloride route etc. The process starting from trichloroacetyl chloride (TCAC) and acrylonitrile (VCN) is adopt broadly in industry and the yield of product is from 50 percent to 70 percent. Zhejiang Xin'an Chemical co., Ltd. has a set of 1000t/a Process of Chlorpyrifos which using TCAC and VCN to synthesize Sodium 3,5,6-Trichloropyridin-2-ol at atmospheric pressure and the yield of Sodium 3,5,6-Trichloropyridin-2-ol is 56 percent.
