In this paper, the emergent detection method of the hydrogen sulfide was studied, based on the gas and molecule spread law (Fick) and the chemical absorption principle. The tube contained sloth carrier impregnated with different special agent containing the pale red-purple of indicator, which have a special effect on the hydrogen sulfide. When in contact with high concentration hydrogen sulfide which diffused into the sponge tube, the tube material underwent a reaction and changed colours. While measuring, the detector tube is placed in an environment with the hydrogen sulfide air, when hydrogen sulfide through the detector tube port into the tube, while passing the sloth carrier, it reacted with the the pale red-purple colour of indicator on the sloth carrier, which produced the obvious color change.Since the product of the square of the color length of the detector tube and the hydrogen sulfide density, and the sampling time displayed a liner relationship within the specific limits, thus extract the average density of time of the hydrogen sulfide.This paper studied two kinds of detector tubes (type I and type II), both of which has the characteristics. The type I detector tube has the advantage of being easy and simple to operate and analyze fast. This type could have sample live, measure live, guide the work live. This type is applicable to the measuring of hydrogen sulfide in the waste gas of factories, workshops, sewers ,etc. Under the general condition, the temperature, degree of humidity , wind velocity ,etc. had no obvious influence to the measurement. Determining, inferior nitre base iron Cymag to examine trachea and hydrogen sulfides were special react, its anti-interference ability was relatively better. The detector tube is kept under the photophobic condition. The term of validity is at least one month. The applied experiment indicates that the total degree of indetermination is below ± 10% , achieving the desired goal. The type II detector tube , with the pale red-purple colour of indicator of 10% acetic acid, has a steadier color system,and very high sensitivity.Some of the pale red-purple colour of indicator can retrieved, after use,causing little pollution with very low cost.This type could accumulate detect at wile place, such as the measurement of H2S content of the petroleum well surroundings environment, confirming whether it was necessary to disperse the crowd or not,...
