Diamond-tool is extensively used on the polishing production-line, as an important tool of machining polished ceramic tile. As a compound polycrystalline material, polished ceramic tiles have the characteristics of wide variety of kinds, complex component, wear resistance, high hardness and brittleness (very thin piece). As a grinding edge of ceramic tiles tool on polishing production-line, diamond cup wheel is important. In this paper, designing and producing a combined machine with several functions to finish experiments. Lots of experiments are done to two different kinds of polished ceramic tiles by two different kinds of diamond cup wheel on the machine. Grinding mechanism of ceramic tiles, grinding force in grinding process, wear of diamond node and performance of diamond cup wheels are studied.On the basis of studying about edging machine and strickling machine on the polishing production-line and according to the purpose, contents and the require of experiments, a combined machine with several functions of grinding, striking, saw cutting is designed and produced. It is proved many times by experiments that the experimental machine may be satisfied with request of experiment. The patent of utility model is applied now.SEM is used to observe and analyze the surface morphology of the polished ceramic tiles, combining surface roughness, the grinding mechanism of ceramic brick is studied.
