The paper is a part of the important item: the method research of high accurate large shaft measurement system by using idler wheels. The diameter and roundness error of the large shaft can be measured in the high accurate large shaft measurement system researched in the item. In order to guarantee the high accuracy expected, the precision of the parts which the system is composed of will be controlled. After analyzing the main error sources in the system, it discusses the error separation and error compensation of parts of the error source. The method how to separate the radial jumpiness of the large shaft by three-point method to gain the round error in high precision is showed particularly. In the part of diameter measurement, this paper indicates how to standardize the photomicrosensor and shows the way how to use correction signal correct the measure error of the grating system which is used to measure the rotated angle of the wheel in detail. The selection of the soft which is used in the data acquisition and processing and experiment course are introduced respectively, and at last it provides the result and conclusion.
