Foundry industry develops very rapidly recently. Concomitantly,the problem of pollution is brought. However,the study about the influence of piling up foundry waste on the groundwater system is not reported in the civil. So it is necessary to carry on such research. In this paper,a foundry waste field is used as the study object on the support of the environmental monitoring station of XiangFan. After domestic and overseas studies about the foundry waste are summarized,such tests as the leaching test,sprinkling test,static adsorption test and soil column test are adopted in the process of study. The reseach on the influence of piling up foundry waste on the groundwater are carried out. These results can be obtained in this research. Firstly,foundry waste isn't a dangerous waste and the poisonous and harmful elements of the foundry waste includes such heavy metals as Pb,As,Mn,Zn,Cr6+,etal and organism. Secondly,the leaching rate of poisonous and harmful elements in the foundry waste will be affected by such factors as pH,temperature,leaching times and so on. Thirdly,the change that the leaching concentration of the elements including Pb,As,Mn,Zn,Cr6+ with the the time follows the reaction model of first grade and the mathemetic expression is C=C0e-kX. Fourthly,such organism as naphthaline,biphenyl are tested in foundry waste,but such carcinogenic organism as B(a)P is not tested. At last,the strong heavy metal retention and adsorption capacity of clays which are collected in the founder waste field are strong and the transferring rate of poisonous and harmful elements in the groundwater system gets more slow since the rate of these elements drops behind the rate of the solution. Forecast based on the mathmetic model indicates that no undesirable effect on circumambient groundwater is produced during the running period of the foundry waste field. The research supplies a researchful way about the influence of piling up the foundry waste on the groundwater. The research will also provide reference for the construction and management in foundry waste field.
