| Fluorescence brightening agent called white dye vulgarly is a sort of organic compound that has achromatic color and can stimulate fluorescence if being irradiated by ultraviolet light. It can improve material's white background and luster, therefore, be applied to textile, paper, plastics and synthetic-detergent industry etc. According to optical complementary color principle, brightening action means that matter suffused with yellow can not only reflect visible light but also absorb ultraviolet light which will be transformed to visible light reflected with indigo or cyan after handled by fluorescence brightening agent. Yellow and blue are complementary color each other, which can counteract matter's yellow and brighten it.CBS is the most palmary fluorescence brightening agent applied to detergent products at present and a master sort of fluorescence brightening agent in the western developed countries China developed CBS and realized industrialization production by itself in the mid of the nineties of the twentieth century, which ended the history of depending on at allChinese industrialization procedure adopts biphenyl process which synthetic total rate is less than 70% commonly and the stability of products is not as good as imports. On the basis of the yield and stability of fluorescence brightening agent CBS being probed by test, available solving ways were found out and the primary design scheme was described in this paper.First, through the experiment research of the CBS synthesis, as stuffs 4,4'-dichloromethyl-bibenzil,tnethyl-phosphite and sodium o-formyl benzene sulfonate are synthesized into fluorescence brightening agent CBS in sequence of estenfication, condensation. And the optimum process conditions were given in this paper. The first step, while 4,4'-dichloromethyl-bibenzil reacts with triethyl phosphite under the condition of 160℃, 4,4'-dis(diethoxy-phosphono-methyl)diphenyl is acquired as intermediate compound. The second step. after mixtures of intermediate compound, dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) , sodium o-formyl benzene sulfonate and sodium methoxide of mass fraction 30% serving as catalyst react under the condition of maintaining 45-50℃, the product CBS is obtained by means of separating the reaction product. The reaction total yield exceeds 70%. Then, make the experiment analysis to the applied condition and stabilities of the product, put forward joining the complexing agentand can keep ions in water, such as calcium and magnesium...etc. and product from reacting.Vitamin c, ultraviolet absorbent etc. are added, which can not only enhance the stability of the products but also reduce cost. And its properties are same as imports. Its final composition quantity is described respectively in the following: CBS 85%, vitamin c 25%, ultraviolet absorbent 0.5%, inorganic salts such as sodium sulfate 12.5%.
