This paper deals with modeling of Poly(Ethylene Terephthalate) reactors and the model is applied in the dynamic simulation of continuous polymerization process.A general reactor model is brought forward , which is to model polyester reactors of every stage in the polymerization process. Based on the analysis of reactors, we regard these reactors as one or a series of continuous stirred tank reactors(CSTR), and adopt general reactor model to model each CSTR. The first esterification reactor and the final stage polycondensation reactor are very significant, which operation affect the quality of output directly. We discuss the influence of operational variables separately. Toward the final stage polycondensation reactor, we regard it as ten CSTRs and obtain approximatively the figure of each component along with shaft. In the "chain-analyzing method",we regard polymer as many chains. It is not the polymer but the chain that is regarded as the component of the system. So the model treats the caculation of the reaction rates, the mass balance and the heat balance in the polymer reaction as easily as in the reaction of low- molecular-weight substances. This method is very simple . The model is also to be understood easily. The model can distinctly reflect the dynamic characteristics of polymerization process, which be applied triumphantly in the dynamic simulation of polymerization process validate the correctness of model.
