| Stamping die plays a very important part in die industry. To utilize Computer Aided Design (CAD) system in die designing is an efficient method of improving the efficiency and quality of die design. But the commercial CAD/CAM systems don't supplies digitized design resources of stamping die, therefore, engineers and technicians still refer to traditional manual books for design data. At the same, the commercial CAD/CAM systems don't have a 3D graphic library of frequently used standard units in agreement with our national standard, thus, engineers and technicians have to repeatedly draw these standard units when required. As a result, it is very significant for improving the efficiency and quality of die design to develop a design resource and 3D graphic library system for stamping die.On the foundation of serious analysis and summarization of the manual books about stamping die design and material contouring, this paper utilizes the idea of software engineering, database technique, OLE automation technique, featuring modeling technique and parametric design technique to make research on the developing of design resource and 3D graphic library system for stamping die. The main achievements and creative ideas of the paper are as follows:(1) This paper expatiates on the evolution of CAD/CAM technique and its present application status in die industry, and discusses the important significance of CAD/CAM technique. Based on the analysis of domestic and oversea study status and application status, it brings forward an idea of establishing design resources and 3D graphic library system for stamping die by digitizing the design resources, so as to supply engineers and technicians with a new assistant software system of die design based on CAD technique.(2) It discusses the basic ideas of software engineering. According to the analysis of system subjects and requirements, it dissertates the general planning of the system, and illustrates the gross framework and function modules with graphics and texts.(3) It makes dissertation on the evolution of data management technique, and introduces the common theories of database design technique. On the basis of classifying the design resources of stamping die, it discusses the method of establishing design resources database for stamping die with DataBase DeskTop and the method of building up data sharing application program with Delphi 5.(4) It dissertates the important meaning of frequently used standard units graphic library for CAD application and the critical techniques for establishing standard units graphic library, and discusses the method for further exploitation of SolidWorks software. Furthermore, it discourse upon the application of OLE automation technique, featuring modeling technique and the theory of parametric design in the course of developing standard units 3D graphic library for stamping die; and detailedly expatiates on the method of implementing the 3Dgraphic library by programming.(5) At the end of this paper, the running result of the system is brought forth, and the further research works are discussed.The establishing of such a software system of stamping die sets out a feasible way for improving the application of CAD technique in mechanical industry. The research makes sense both for theory and for practice. |
