This paper first introduce the concept and classifies of bulging forming. The advantages and disadvantages among different kinds of shaping methods are compared. And the applications of bulging forming technology in metal field are introduced. Literatures about bulging forming technology are summarized. This paper emphasize on the experiments and simulations in technic parameters correlation plastic bulging forming method.Theory model of plastic tube's free bulging forming process is established, two parts——straight region and bulging region are discussed respectively. In the straight region, axes symmetry model and relation theory developments are introduced firstly.Based on the theory model, comprehensive experiments in plastic bulging forming were carried out. In the first place, equipment, testing system and dies for experiment are introduced. Secondly, different kinds of products are gained by bulging forming method. The characteristics and regard points of bulging forming process are studied. The emphasis points are influence factors and invalidation forms. The influence of transition chamfer, different bulging medium, counterpoise pressure, bulging pressure, temperature, thickness of tube to the bulging forming abilities are researched.Finally, the whole research working are summarized. And put forward the valuable study direction in plastic bulging forming method in the future.
