Hydrotalcites belong to a family of anionic clays. Because of its special composition and structure, hydrotalcites are shown highly activity and selectivity in catalytic reaction, such as hydrogenization, polymerization, and condensation. Recently, they have been found a variety of pharmaceutical applications, such as antiacid medicinal, antipeptic ulcer, medicinal, anti-bacterial and inflammatory drug. On the other hand, they can be use as adsorbant, fire-retardant, heat stabilizer and so on. The more wide range of application, the more require quantity of hydrotalcites. Providing hydrotalcite products with high quantity, inexpensive, perfect crystal and uniform structure, that require improve original synthiztic methods.Synthetic methods of nano hydrotalcite are batch operation, which is disbennifit for industrial production up to now. The batch production is expensive and low output. In order to overcome these shortages, a continuous aging process is put forward by our laboratory. This new method is the aging process in a pipe aging reactor at high supersaturation continuous producing. The process involves the slurry continuously injected by quantitative pump and hold in pipe aging reactor at certain time to get nano size hydrotalcite with perfect critical. This novel continuous aging process is simple, convenient, cheap, and easily industrialization.The aims of this paper are study the possibility of continuous agingreaction in the pipe aging reactor made by our laboratory, and the influence of reactant concentration, injecting speed, aging time, and aging temperature on critical structure of hydrotalcite have been studied.Study shown, it is possible to continuous preparation nano hydrotalcite in the pipe aging reactor and to get good critical structure of hydrotalcite. Besides, the reactant concentration, injected speed, aging time, and aging temperature can influence on the hydrotalcite critical perfect and critical size. The hydrotalcite critical size and other structure data were characterized by XRD, FT-IR, TEM, etc. And discuss the key factor of the pipe aging reaction in hydrotalcites production.
