The reverse cycle can be repeated even 500 times without lose of material. Another important feature is that the 'ate of the thermal reaction "ana" to "trans" is negligible at room temperature.Try to synthesize the photochromic compounds of Phenoxyanthraquinones;Phenoxynaphthacen equinone;Phenoxypentaphenquinone;and Penoxyhaptaphenquinone.1 -Hydroxy-4-p-hydroxyphenoxy-9,10-anthraquinone;4-p-chlorophenoxy-1 -hydroxy-9,10-anthraquinone;1-Hydroxy-4-(2,4,e-trinitrophenoxy)-9,10-anthraquinone; 1 -chloro-2-hydro-xyl-4-phenoxy-9,10 -anthraquinone; 3-Methyl-1 -phenoxy-9,10-anthraquinone;1-p-chlorophenoxy-3-Methyl-9,10-anthraquin one;1-p-hydroxyphenoxy-3-Methyl-9,10-anthrac|uinone;1,4-diphenoxy-3-m ethyl-9,10-anthraquinone;4-p-chlorophenoxy-1-Hydroxy-2-methyl-9,10-ant hraxquinone;1-Hydroxy-4-p-hydroxyphenoxy-2-methyl-9,10-anthraquinone have been synthesized. Structures of all above compounds were determined by 1H-NMR ,13C-NMR , MS , IR , UV-Vis spectroscopy.
