Study On Synthesis Of Fatty Acid Esters Of Sorbitan Using New Catalyst System And Their Emulsification

Sorbitan monoleate(Span) is a very famous nonionic surfactant which possesses many excellent properties such as emulsifying, dispersing, and being nontoxic; nonirritant and low-volatile. Span was synthesized by direct reaction of sorbitol with oleic acid using a new catalyst system which mainly consists of A and B,in an axid: base molar ratio of 0.8:1to 1.6:1,at a calalust concentration of 3to 20% ,by weight of sorbitol can have high quality than products of prior commercial bulk processes even without the use of activated carbon and product bleaching typically used previously. It is attractive for personal applications.When W/O emulsified oil is applied as Hydrocracking Unit, the oil atomization situation could be improved greatly due to micro-explosion, and the yield of carbon and dry gas could be decreased. The emulsificat proce dure of Hydrocracking Unit oil and the quality of emulsified oil were studied, which includs selecting composition of emulsifier and emulsification conditions, and measuring surfacetension, interfacial tension and viscosity of the feed stock before and after emulsification. The reasons for the changes are analyzed. The results show that Span80 is asatisfact or yemulsifier. From 60 to 90°C, compared with to the surfacet ension of feed stock, the inter facialtension of emulsified oili sdecreased from 65.6%～84.3%..
