| The surface pH value of general latex glove presents weak alkaline. Wearing thiskind glove for a long time will destroy the weak acid environments of hand skin andmake the microorganism apt to invade the skin. As the application of new technology,there are some new products such as low protein gloves, sterilizing gloves,powder-free gloves in the latex glove industry. But these products only play the roleof isolation and do not protect the hand skin. This research made a study onpreparation and mechanism of weak acid coating for latex gloves. In the researchbuffer theory was applied for the preparation of weak acid solutionand SEM, NMRand IR techniques were used to study the combination mechanism between weak acidcoating and gloves. Refer to the effect of aloe in nursing skin and the application of weak acidmaterials in cosmetics field, citric acid, lactic acid, tartaric acid and their each acidsalt was chosed. In this study weak acids and their each acid salt, aloe, CMC and OPemulsifying agent were used to prepare weak acid coating, in which fruit acid andaloe served as nutrition materials, CMC served as an adhesiveand OP emulsifyingagent served as a wetting agent. In this experiment the capacity of antalkalies of three buffer solutions, whichdetermined the component of the solution for produce, the effect of CMC, OPemulsifying agent and coating technology on the gloves apparent quality and pHvalue of surface layer was studied. Suitable technical parameters were got by greatdeal of experiment. The experiment result showed that adding CMC and OPemulsifying agent could inprove the gloves apparent quality and control surface pHvalue. In aloe solution when weak acids and their each acid salt at 0.5 percent, CMCat 0.05 percent, OP emulsifying agent at 0.3 percent, the latex glove was the best inquality, and have suitable pH value at about 4.8. Weak acid coating used in latexglove did not change the process of traditional gloves production and avoided thetechnical improvement of technology. iThe physics properties of weak acid glove and the stability of weak acid coatingwere examined. The results showed that physics properties of weak acid glovemeasured up to ASTM D3578-01. The pH value of the latex glove product kept goodstability and satisfied the request for durability for 5 months under the dry, airtightcondition. SEM, NMR, IR techniques were used in the analysis of the combination betweenweak acid coating and gloves. The weak acid coating covered on the latex glovesurface, which did not destroy the body structure of latex. The weak acid coating andthe latex glove were not combined in chemical bond. The research deduced that weakacid coating combined with latex on the model of mechanical force combination orspreading and absorbing combination. A small quantity of weak acid glove was produced and measured up to ASTMD3578-01. The product was exported to USA. |
