Study On Senile Furniture Design

There are about 130 million old persons in China. They will be the main consume in furniture market in the 21st century. Focused on the study on senile furniture design, this paper discussed how to combine to the characteristic of old people in physiology and psychology and the other relevant subject during senile furniture design. At the same time, analyzed the style, material, proportion, color and surrounding of senile dwelling of senile furniture design and put forward the principle of senile furniture design, that is, functional quality and artistic quality. There are about 4 kinds of furniture, 16 furniture being examples to show functional measurement in the paper such as table, chair, bed and cabinet. The study will explore the style of China furniture and promote the development of China furniture industry. In addition, it's also beneficial to interior designer when they designed for old people.
