In this dissertation, poplar veneer and bamboo curtain were used as the main experimental materials, water-soluble low molecular weight PF resin as adhesive, then bamboo/wood composite strengthened LVL was manufactured. Veneer thickness, PF resin concentration, assemble pattern, compression ratio, hot pressing time and temperature was selected as variable factors, then relationship between properties of the composite material and experimental factors was established, and at the same time the optimal process parameters was explored in this experiment. On the basis of the above study, the coating property of the composite material was also studied. The experimental result shows the optimal process parameters are as follows: veneer thickness 2.6 nun, pp resin concentration 20%, assemble pattern is achieved by placing bamboo-curtain at face layer, compression ratio 30%, hot pressing time 10mm, hot pressing temperature 140?Under experimental conditions, the best result is as follows: MOE 18.75GPa, MOR 185.34MPa, TS 2.1%, WAR 25.4%, delamination phenomenon didn't occur. The mechanical properties exceed the highest requirements of JAS standard. The coating experiment shows that coating abrasion resistance of the composite materials meets and exceeds the requirements of GB/T15036.1-2001; coating adhesion also meets the requirements of GB/T9286-1998.
