Investigation On Heavy Metal Pollution In Typical Area Of Pearl River Delta (Dongguan City)

Along with the society, economic development, The pollution of the environment is increasingly outstanding. Soil is an importance part of the environment, Soil pollution especially soil heavy metals pollution is more serious, when soil is polluted by heavy metals ,these elements will be taken by human through food chain. And it's harmful to the human body health. There is a lot of source of the soil heavy metals pollutant, such as garbage, Industrial Waste water etc. Pearl River Delta is one of the quickest regions of economy development in our country, the industry development is fast, for the environmental protection consciousness is weak in the past, result in the certainly negative influence to the native environment.In this paper , the pollution of heavy metal in soil under intensive economical development were studied in typical area (Dongguan city)of pearl river delta. The levels of Cd, Cr, Pb, Ni ,Cu, Zn, Hg, As in 84 soil samples were detected. Cu, Pb, Zn, Cr, Ni, Cd, As, Hg, organism, acidity and texture are measured, at the same time, the relativity between heavy metals, heavy metals and characters were researched. Most of the soils in this area is acidic, the content of organism is low, and soil texture is neuter. The levels of Cd, Cr, Pb, Ni,Cu, Zn were 0.166-0.433 mg/kg. 2.28-94.28 mg/kg, 20.36-143.3 mg/kg, 2.29-63.55 mg/kg 4.8-65.1 mg/kg 10.06-131 mg/kg, 0.01-1.013 mg/kg 0.397-28.87 mg/kg. The soil were contaminated by lead and nickel in great universality .other heavy metal exceed the background values . The tallest value of Hg is 12.66 times to the soil background value of Guangdong province, and Cd is 4.15 times to the soil background value of Guangdong province , Pb and Cu is 3.8 times to the soil background value of Guangdong province, As is 3.24 times to the soil background value of Guangdong province, Zn is 2.57 times to the soil background value of Guangdong province, Ni is 2.1 times to the soil background valueof Guangdong province, Cr is 1.49 times to the soil background value of Guangdong province .The pollution is different in different area, Cd, Ni, Zn, As pollution is more serious in Westnorth part, Cu, Hg pollution is more serious in city area, Pb, As pollution is more serious in southwest part. So soil heavy metals pollution in this area needs to be valued.
