Taxus chinensis var. mairei(Lemee et levl) Cheng. et. L. K. Fu.(T.ma.) is a member of Taxus family of Taxaceae, its conservation rating is first degree in China. It mainly distributes in valleys of Yangtze and provinces of Guangxi,Guangdong , Henan,Shanxi,Gansu and Taiwan. As an anticancer drug in it,taxol has attached much attention from scientists all over the world. In Guangxi, no reports are found about systematic research of T.ma. And there are no reports about chemical constituents of pedicels in T.ma..Contents of Taxol in barks, seeds, needles, twigs, and pedicels of T.ma.were determinated by HPLC in this paper. Analysis was performed on a 250mm×4.6mm Alltima C18 collomn, mobile phase is MeOH:H2O (65:35) , detected wavelength is at 227nm by ultraviolet dectector. The external standard method was employed for qualitative and quantitative analysis. The result shows that the taxol content in the barks of T.ma. is highest, needle,s is lowest. In this paper, Contituents in extracts of CHCl3 from the pedicel of T.ma. were studied. The pedicel of T.ma. was dried , powered and then extracted with 95% EtOH. The 95% EtOH extracts were concentracted under reduced pressure to give a purble residue. The residue was partitioned with P.ether, CHCl3,EtOAc and n-C4H9OH, respectively. The CHCl3 partitions were chromatographied on silica gel , Sephadex LH-20 and then PR-TLC to give seven compounds. Based on analysis of their m.p. specific rotation and UV, IR, NMR spectra, structrures of three known compounds were identified as (1) taxol, (2) 7-epi-Taxol ,(3) (3E,7E)-2α,10β,13α-triacetoxy-5α,20-dihydroxy-3,8-secotaxa-3,7,11-trien-9-one, respectively.
