In this thesis, the reaction conditions and the effect of coal property were studied during high temperature rapid liquefaction of Shenfu coal. Reaction mechanism was also discussed.TG and DTA experiment shows that the rate of coal weight loss reaches maximum at the temperature range of 400 ℃-520 ℃, the of coal liquefaction feasible reaction temperature was in this range. The effects of temperature, reaction time on high temperature rapid liquefaction were studied. Experiment results indicates that the optimum reaction temperature and time of shenfu coal are 490 ℃, 6 minutes respectively(coal conversion 90.21%). Therefore, the high temperature rapid liquefaction is feasible.The mineral matter of coal can not only affect the catalyst, but catalyze liquefaction as well. So, the effect of mineral matter was studied. After most of mineral matter of coal were removed, (removing rate 84.83%), the autocatalysis effect wakened and the coal conversion declines clearly. The mineral matter especially affects the initial high stage of shenfu coal.Moreover, the coal conversion without catalyst is higher than that of conversion with catalyst. It shows that the function of Ammounium Molybdate goes down. The adscititious catalyst has related to the mineral matter of coal.In the third section, the effects of low molecule compounds of coal on rapid liquefaction were studied. The raw coal was extracted by different solvents. TG curve of extracted coal by benzene changed inapparently comparing with raw coal, and the rate of weight loss of extracted by THF increased that of raw coal. From the IR spectrum, it was concluded that the intension of hydroxyl, C=C bond and methyl decreased. The conclusions are reached: After low molecule compounds of coal were removed, it affects the initial high stage of shfu coal and the optimum reaction conditions changed. The extracted coal by THF ,490 ℃ ,9minutes is the best reaction condition(87.57%). It lows appreciably the optimum conversion of raw coal 90.21%(490℃, 6min).
