The Study Of Ecological Security Dynamic Change Based On The Ecological Footprint

The ecological and environmental questions have become a threat toward economic development of human society in recent years. Ecological security has become equally important with military security, economic security, political security and national security etc... So it is extremely important to study ecological security. But at present, there are still no strict standard applied extensively to judge whether the ecology is security or not. The methods of ecological security appraisal both at home and abroad still stay on the basis of qualitative judgements, moreover, environmental and biological index factors those methods involved are numerous, Not to say the difficulty of operating it concretely. So, it is essential to adopt a kind of method, which is feasible, easy understanding and easy calculating on bigger range and greater degree in actual research work. Based on this consideration, using ecological footprint method which is prevailing in the world at present, the paper studied whether the regional development is sustainable and the ecology is security from the angle of if mankind development and speed of releasing wastes exceed natural recycled ability and self-purification ability at present. This method realized the regional ecological security situation analysis in the aspect of carrying capacity and pressure, and reflected the degree of regional ecological security.The paper selected Shaanxi Province for research, calculating ecological footprints from 1986 to 2002 of north of Shaanxi Province, Guan zhong, south of Shaanxi Province. The paper explored and carried out the application of ecological footprint theory and method on the regional aspect.The paper consists of seven parts. Firstly, the paper summarizes research background, expound the relationship between ecological security and geography, resource and environment science and ecology. The paper also stated the research region, method and meaning. Secondly, the paper analyzed the background of how ecological footprint come forth and basic conceptions relevant to it, summarizing in further research situation of ecological footprintboth at home and abroad, putting forward the index system of the ecological footprint according to the concept intension of the ecological footprint, summing up the ecological footprint analytical method and calculation procedure finally. The third, fourth, fifth, the paper calculated and analyzed the change of the ecologically productive land area and the ecological footprint of north of Shaanxi Province, Guanzhong, south of Shaanxi Province separately after analyzing the three region natural and social economic conditions. The paper predicted ecological footprint and ecological carrying capacity according to the result of calculation and put forward the concept of the ecological footprint pressure index finally. The sixth, the paper compared and analyzed the three regions ecological security , expounding the ecological security situation of the three regions from the angle of if mankind using natural resources and the speed of releasing wastes exceed natural recycled ability and self-purification ability. In order to reflect the using efficiency of ecologically productive land area, the paper also calculated every region ecological footprint demand of ten thousand yuan GDP. Finally, the paper propose some measures of slowing down the ecological footprint, improving ecological carrying capacity and increasing the ecological security.It is a conclusion part finally. Through above-mentioned calculation and analysis, the paper got following meaningful conclusions:(1)The per capita ecological carrying capacity is reducing in all the three region, but the reduced range is different, north of Shaanxi Province is the fastest, south of Shaanxi Province is the slowest, Guanzhong is between them.
