Yellow phosphorus slag is the by-product of phosphor. It mainly consists of silicon oxide and aluminum oxide. It is wide useful in the cement industry. One is for raw materials of producing cement clinker; another is for the mixture of cement.In this paper, different kinds of raw materials ratios with and without yellow phosphorus slag were used to investigate the mechanism of clinker. X-ray diffraction (DTA) and different temperature analysis (DTA) as well as optical microcopy were used to investigate the reaction mechanism of materials. In addition, effect of adding of yellow phosphorus slag on the production of cement clinker was especially investigated in industry. The research results included the four points as follows:(1) Appropriate addition of yellow phosphorus slag can largely improve the burning properties of raw materials. Made the formation reaction of clinker phases fast and C3S form in large qualities at the temperature range of 1250 to 1350 C, as well as decreasing the content of free-CaO.(2) With the small amount of P2O5 and CaF2, samples with the addition of phosphorus slag have the lower liquid than samples without phosphorus slag. So C3S may easier crystallize from the liquid and the reaction activation energy is also lower than the samples without phosphorus slag. With appropriate addition of yellow phosphorus slag, the component of clinker phases was improved. In fact, the content of C3S and C3A, as well as the total of C3S and C2S increased in large quantities, but the content of C4AF decreased at the same time.(3) The industry research indicated that the best content of phosphorus slag in the raw materials ratios was about 6%. With this content of phosphorus slag, the strength at different ages can be increased largely. And the content of fly ash in cement can also be increased in large quantities.(4) With appropriate addition of yellow phosphorus slag, the heat for the formation of clinker and the electricity energy for one-ton cement can be decreased largely. And the amount of cement production can be increased. So the production cost can be largely decreased.
