NC machine tools are important equipments in modern machinofacture enterprise. NC maintenance technic influences the usage of NC machine tools.The usage circumstances of NC machine tools in Mcishan Rolling Stock works has been summarized. The shortages of the usage of NC machine tools in this enterprise were presented. Therefore the thesis tries hard to attain the purpose that help the enterprise to make use adequately of NC equipments resources and create more economic performances by the theories study and the experience summary of the fault analysis and the maintenance technic of HMC40 machining center and COBRA42 NC lathe.Six fault classification methods have been presented. The electric, mechanical and hydraulic/air pressure faults have been analyzed. A fault diagnosis flow chart has been plotted. Based on the discussion, the representative analysis and elimination methods of the common mechanical faults of HMC40 machining center and COBRA42 NC lathe were introduced. Some hydraulic/air pressure system faults were included too. The mechanical faults, program error and poor part machining accuracy in the machining center faults have been studied. In the NC lathe faults, the hydraulic/air pressure, headstock, turret, tailstock, machining accuracy and lubricate etc. have been discussed in the thesis. NC system software configuration, software faults analysis, software faults elimination methods of SINUMHRLK NC system have been discussed too. Nine NC system maintenance methods have been suggested. SIEMENS and FANUC NC system, some maintenance examples have been introduced in the thesis.
