In this paper, the main factors that effecting the life of converter's liner in Jiuquan Iron & steel co were analyzed, and the technology of slag splashing was investigated. Li the meantime, the effects of slag splashing between the ordinary oxygen spiracle and the rotational flow spiracle were contrasted. Through analyzing in practice and the hydraulic model test, the main messures to increase the life of converter's liner were put forward as follows:(1) The main problems affecting the life of liner are the low frequency of slag splashing, the unbalanced organization in production, the unbalanced organization in production, the unsufficient nitrogen pressure and the low quantity of MgO in slag leading to low melting point of the slag and invalid protection to the liner of converter. At the same time, normative practice and wnreasonable parameters including the position of oxygen gun and the suitable amount of slag should also be considered especially.(2) The result in simulate test shows that in slag splashing, the rotational flow spiracle is superior to die ordinary oxygen spiracle because of its ability to increase the splashing density in the high position of tunnel head.(3) The order of the factors affection slag splashing in K-Bop is that: the flow rate of top blown oxygen, the position of oxygen-gun, the amount of slag and the flow rate of bottom blown oxygen. Optimum technical parameters of Jiugang's 50t K-Bop are as follows: the amount of top blown oxygen is 1900mm, the amount of bottom oxyen is 60-120Nm3/h.According to the result above, Jiugang has tackled key problems of slag splashing, and in Dec,2001, the life of No.3 converter reached 8000 times firstly in the history.
