Development And Application Of Coating For Lost Foam Casting

Firstly, the measuring methods of technological properties and working properties for coating for Lost Foam Casting (LFC) are introduced in the article, and some of them are designed by ourselves. Secondly, effects of ingredients on properties for LFC coating are studied.The results show that more than 10% (wt) flake mica or fiber wollastonite can improve the technological properties such as suspensibility, thixotropy, and smearing property and working properties such as bending strength and permeability at room temperature and high temperature of the LFC coating. And diatomate can improve its adiabaticity, then its mold filling capacity is improved, the gradation of aggregate(0.149~nnn 0.045 mm) has effects on properties.Appropriate organic band can improve the technological properties such as thixotropy, smearing property and working properties such as binding strength and bending strength of the LFC coating in which ZA is excellent.Bentonite and attapulguse clay are good suspend when its content less then 8%.The application of LFC coating in manufacturing shows its sound properties.
