Development Of Multi-function Coating Property Testing Instrument For Lost Foam Casting

Casting coat is one of the most important technologies in the LFC (Lost foam casting), which has direct impact on quality of the casting. At present, LFC is faced with great development in our country, Nevertheless, the ability to produce coating of high quality is low, and the correlative measures to check-up it is lack. At the same time, in the absence of uniform testing methods and standards at home and abroad, the development of our LFC is greatly restricted. Therefore, with the aim of automated detecting of coating property for LFC, this thesis mainly develops testing principles, methods and equipment to provide technical assurance for the development of coating for LFC.In this thesis, according to the characteristic of the LFC technology and its demand on performance of coating, the main parameters of performance test are: the transferring ability of degradation product through the coating wafer, high-temperature permeability, and high-temperature strength. Based on these, a multi-functional instrument for LFC coating property test is self-developed. With this instrument, the above coating properties can be tested continuously with one coating sample. This instrument is good at the synthetic analysis of the coating quality and improves the accuracy of the test. At the same time, this instrument reduces the tedious level of test and the investment.This instrument uses the technology which combining SCM with computer together. Choosing SCM as MC, the data collection and the functions of instrument operating is mainly completed by the acquisition and control hardware system, which is developed independently. And using the computer as PC, the independently developed software controls the operation of SCM and the data processing and displaying on the computer. Data is transmitted by RS-232C serial communication interface between SCM and computer. By VB6.0 language, a friendly and intuitive interface is made. Communication interface and computer software constitute a powerful data acquisition and processing systems, which has powerful functions such as curves and graphics'output and document processing. From above, being controlled by computer, this instrument can be operated conveniently and has a high degree of automation. The data processed in the computer, which makes test results intuitive and precise.
