Coal's pyrolysis in plasma to produce acetylene is a kind of neo-type technology of coal utilities and conversions with advantages such as simple devices , low pollutants and short cycle. The Shanxi Key Laboratory of Coal Science and Technology, which belongs to the Taiyuan University of Technology , has embarked on the research of coal's pyrolysis in H2 and Ar DC arc plasma to produce acetylene in cooperation with the Heat Energy Department of Tsinghua University since the early of 1990s. By now , great progresses have been made include the Reactor Model's establishment miniature experiments and the initial mechanism study of coal's pyrolysis in plasma. With the acetylene's coming out, some cokes with chemical stability will be deposited on the wall of reactor ; the acetylene, which be produced under a high temperature will be continuously decomposed into carbon black in the distributed reactor ; at the same time , the residue of coal pyrolysis appear on the bottom of whole device. These substance are called "solid phase products" in this paper. For the reason that "solid phase products" has a competitive effect with the acetylene yield and is one of the key factors to obstruct this technology , it is very important to understand their components and structure and make them more useful. This paper aim at this basic point and use several kinds of coal's pyrolysis in plasma reactor to study the relationship between coke and acetylene yield , meanwhile, methane , liquified gas, benezne and dimethylbenzene are used as the model reactants to research the mechanism of coke's deposited , ultimately, wooden powder, as a coke-cleaning substance , is added into reactor with coal to research its effect on the coke decreasing arid acetylene yielding.Several analysis ways were used in experiments, include: the X-ray Diffraction and Scan Electrical Microscope of solid phase products, the Extraction and FT-IR of carbon black, the BET and pole volumetric test of coke, the chemical components analysis of materials and solid phase products and the GC detection of gas phase products.
