The TiN-Al203-C composite powder materials produced by aluminothermic reduction nitriding with the presence of carbon in the reducing atmosphere were studied in this paper. The effects of technology parameters such as sintering temperature, the content of graphite, the add of carbon black, Ti02/Al etc on the components, properties, and microstructures of reaction sintering compounds were studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electronic microscope (SEM) and electronic probe microanalysis (EPMA).In this paper, the properties and slag resistance of TiN-Al203-C composite with two kinds of different matrix components were also studied; and were compared with A1203-C materials. The mechanism of slag resistance of TiN-Al203-C composite was analyzed by means of SEM and EPMA. At last, the oxidation resistance of TiN-Al203-C composite was studied.
