Abstract/Summary:
While rapid development in iron and steel metallurgy industry, refractorymaterials also reached new heights of performance requirements, traditional MgO-Cbricks are increasingly unable to meet higher demand on performance of refractoriesfor melting furnace. Especially on properties of high titanium slag corrosionresistance performance limitations and shortcomings. We are actively looking forCaO.TiO2had a better performance in this way. Calcium titanate (CaO·TiO2) is ahigh melt phase with high volume stability and chemical stability, dense structural andnot easy to be corroded by slag.Doing the experiment, high titanium slag erosion resistance,to traditional MgO-Cbricks,MgO-CaO bricks and MgO-CaO-C bricks. After the erosion, to themacrostructure the materials contain C are less slag corrosion, while the MgO-CaObricks are heavily slag corrosion with the obvious reaction layer.Microstructure isobserved by scan electron microscope,MgO-CaO bricks and MgO-CaO-C brickformed dense reaction layer inside the brick,preventing slag infiltration.By energyspectrum analysis and thermodynamics analysis main reaction layer to generate alarge amount of calcium titanate,which is a high melt phase with high volume stabilityand chemical stability, dense structural and not easy to be corroded by slag.Reactionlayer on the microstructure of calcium titanate (CaO·TiO2) uniformly distributedaround the periclase large particles, fill in periclase surrounding the pore, increase thedensity of the reaction layer.By introducing TiO2to calcium magnesium brick in preforming calcium titanate (CaO·TiO2), increasing volume density of the MgO-CaObrick.After high titanium slag corrosion resistance,a large amount of calcium titanateenrich in reaction layer,but calcium titanate (CaO· TiO2) in reaction layerconcentration to the direction of change in the brick is reduced gradually, reducing thestress concentration of the reaction layer,so reaction layer is not easy to fall off.MgO-CaO-C brick in titanium slag erosion not only in the process of the blastfurnace calcium titanate (CaO·TiO2) reaction layer Resistanting to slag erosion,butthe existence of graphite also makes it hard for MgO-CaO-C brick slagwetting,resistance to slag after has smaller hole deep change, high titanium slagerosion resistance is better.
