In this paper, we summarized processors' work and integrated the production. Especially, we studied on the synthesis of pivalic acid by Koch reaction and its kinetics in sulfuric acid .By using isobutylene, isobutanol , formic acid , carbon monoxide as reaction material; sulfuric acid (80~98%)as catalyst we synthesized pivalic acid and confirmed the best conditions. The purity of pivalic acid can reach 99.9% or above it .With isobutanol and formic acid as the material: reaction temperature 55C, feeding time 25min,ratio of isobutanol and formic acid is 0.8, pivalic acid yield can reach 86.2%;With isobutylene and carbon monoxide as the material : reaction temperature 45 C, reaction pressure 6MPa, reaction time about 3.5h,the average yield is about 80% ;To optimize reaction conditions ,we introduced Ag+, Cu+ into sulfuric acid also as catalyst, and the result is satisfaction. The reaction can take place at room temperature and normal pressure, with improved reaction speed and yield.We studied on the kinetics of the system with isobutanol and carbon monoxide as the material and sulfuric acid as catalyst, thus we concluded that:The reaction can be considered as first reaction when carbon monoxide is excessive enough. We achieved some kinetic parameters: The apparent first -order rate constant of isobutanol is 9.74*10I3l/s ;The apparent activity energy of isobutanol is about 97KJ/mol.Thereaction equation can be described as: We finished the work in the lab, provided expatiatory data for the industrialization. The industrialization has come true in Hebei Xuanhua Fertilizer Company.
