Stamp charging technology can expand the resource of coking coal, improve the coke quality and output, etc. Thus it has been approved by a lot of countries along with the increaseing demand of coke, expectations for quality and the dropping quality of coal resource. The main structure design methods of the stamped type coke oven machineries are still referring to foreign product presently inland. There were lots of unsure factors in the design, such as the impacting load and stress on the structure, which baffled the development of large-sized stamped type coke oven machinery. Therefore the research of the mechanical properties and changing rules of the interaction of the stamping hammer, briquette and parietal part has important significance in the structure analysis and optimization design of large stamped type coke oven machinery.Aiming at the mechanical properties in the stamping process, the numerical model was established based on the nonlinear software LS-DYNA for simulating the process of stamping briquette on the 5.5m stamped type coke oven machinery which was designed and manu-factured by DHI-DCW Group Co., Ltd. Taking nonlinear behaviors of the briquette into account, this simulation used MAT5(Soil and Foam) material model to simulate the briquette. Considering the material parameters are changing in the stamping process and the parameters are different among different briquette, this paper researched the influence to the impact by the change of material parameters through orthogonal experimental design. The model simulated the dynamic characteristics of the interaction of stamping hammer, briquette and parietal part in the stamping process based on a group of representative material parameters. The results of numerical simulation act in accord with monitoring data which verified the rationality of this simulation model from the contrast between the simulation results and the monitoring data of the impact and the pressure between the briquette and the parietal part.The results of the simulation and the experiment showed the mechanical properties and changing rules in the stamping process, which provided valuable information in the structure analysis and optimization design for larger stamped type coke oven machinery.
