Study On The Catalytic Properties Of Gallium Triflate In The Synthesis Of Heterocyclic Compounds

Gallium is the metal element in IIIA group, In the last decade, the application of Gallium in organic synthesis had been deeply researched and had made many great progresses. Gallium triflate is a stable Lewis acid catalyst, It can be easily dissolved in polar solvents such as EtOH, CH3CN, and water. As an sort of efficient Lewis acid catalyst, Gallium triflate has many applications in organic synthesis. In this paper, we have synthesised a series of benzo[c]thiophene and pyrrole derivatives by using Gallium triflate as the catalyst.benzo[c]thiophene is one of the most important heterocyclic compounds existed in the nature world, it is a sort of important intermediates in organic synthesis, also, it is widely used as the basic framework in medicine, pesticide, functional materials. In the second section of this dissertation, we have developed a Ga(OTf)3-promoted sequential reactions via sulfur-assisted propargyl-allenyl isomerizations and intramolecular [4+2] cycloadditon for the synthesis of 1,3-dihydrobenzo[c]thiophenes. The structures of products had been confirmed by NMR, MS, and IR spectra, based on this, we have proposed a plausible pathway of this reaction.Pyrrole derivatives, widely exist in the nature world, play a important role in life process. Besides, as intermediate in organic synthesis, Pyrrole derivatives are critical to fine chemical industry, in recent years, the demand for Pyrrole derivatives has increased rapidly. In the third section of this dissertation, we have developed a Ga(OTf)3-promoted sequential reactions for the synthesis of a series derivatives of Acylpyrroles, which are useful intermediates in organic synthesis.
