Study On Southern Teahouse Design

The teahouse has long history in China, along with Chinese economic prosper and the idea renewal, the teahouse profession is in the growth period. The teahouse research theoretically falls behind by the practice development. So far the teahouse research focused on the sociology level, very little on empirical point of view.The research utilized many kinds of research techniques to gain the scientific, the accurate research data and the conclusion. Through literature reading to understands the teahouse tendency, investigated on field and combined the interview and the questionnaire survey method to summarizes the selected location of southern teahouse, also the discussed spatial characteristic of different selected location teahouse. Refine the design factors of southern teahouse, comb the architectural style of teahouse. In the end, through the data analysis and different kinds of discipline's intersecting, analyze the relationship between the teahouse space design and people's behavior, summarize the principles of green teahouse design.Through a series research techniques the southern teahouse can be divided into three kinds of teahouse including the urban area, the suburb area, the scenic area. Based on the selected location, the paper carried on the elaboration separately to spatial shape characteristics of the three kinds. The architectural styles of southern teahouse are summarized for the common residence style, the garden structural type, the clubhouse style, the garden style. The paper concluded primary factors of the teahouse design, including selected location, the architectural style, the spatial shape, the environmental design and the cultural connotation. It discussed from external environment design to the interior spatial arrangement of the teahouse. For the first time put the behavior psychology, the building culture and the tea culture together to study the teahouse, which unifies the teahouse unique culture and the green architectural design principle, proposing the pattern of green teahouse design.The southern teahouse design, whether luxury or simple, should be under the guidance of green building concept. Putting the tea culture as the keynote, integrate the national traditional aesthetics, architecture, folklore, to create a strong traditional culture atmosphere.
