Seismic wave-field is composed of different polarized vibration in essence, and is three-dimension vector wave-field. For three components seismic detection, each single component record is just a projection of three-dimension vector wave-field. The polarization analysis of wave-field is purpose to extract characteristic and parameters of space polarization.The thesis explains the basic theory of polarization analysis and methods and how to design a polarization filter. With listing several polarization analysis methods, this thesis lies special stress on covariance matrix analysis.With the Fortran programming tool, I accomplish the three-component seismic processing module of polarization filter of three-component seismic. The theoretical data is applied to test the processing module with satisfactory results. Finally, we find out the factors affecting the result:(1) Polarization analysis method is effective to separate the P wave and PSV wave of three components seismic at present. If we choose appropriate parameters (such as p, q, N), we can separate the vertical wave and transverse wave and enhance valid signal and suppress disturb signal.(2) Among the parameters of covariance matrix analysis method, the value of parameters q affects the result most, and secondly is parameters N, and the value of parameters q affects the result little. Changing the value of q can regulate the bandwidth of filter; Changing the value of N can affect the value of polarization and the veracity of polarization direction.
