Studies On Structure And Productivity Of Natural Swamp Forests Community In Xiaoxing'an Mountains, Heilongjiang, China

The species richness, a diversity index, tree species composition, diameter distribution, growth processes, stand volume, biomass, productivity and carbon density level of different types of natural forest swamps communities in Xiaoxing'an Mountains were studied by using sample plot with net check survey method and average sample tree determination. The existed species diversity, productivity condition and vegetation carbon storage ability of natural swamp forests were quantitively evaluated, which provided scientific basis for the evaluation and restoration of swamp forests ecosystem and vegetation carbon storage estimation of Northeast China region and even nationwide forest ecosystem. Results demonstrated that:①There existed differences of species richness among different types of natural swamp forests was in a low level, and in the sequence of LT(25)>B(20)>M(15)>LX(13)>LN(7); a diversity showed that LN(1.4167)> LX(1.2821)> B(1.0604)> M(1.0483)> LT(0.9791); species evenness showed that LN(0.7273)>LX(0.4998)>M(0.3871)>B(0.3540)>LT(0.3042).②The tree species compositions of different types of natural forest swamps were all relatively single, each with a dominant species and predominated by the smaller (2-8cm) and middle (10-16cm) diameter trees, whereas proportion of big diameter (up to 18cm) class trees were seldom; the proportion of trees up to middle diameter class showed as B(67.50%)> LX(62.59%)>M(49.11%)>LT(42.54%)>LN(25.60%).③The growth processes of different types of natural forest swamps had significant differences. The annual average growth of diameter presented as M(0.3207cm)>B(0.2560cm)> LX(0.2056cm)> LT(0.1586cm)> LN(0.1545cm); that of height showed as B(0.4514cm·a-1)> M(0.3621cm·a-1)> LX(0.2976cm·a-1)> LT(0.2296cm·a-1)>LN(0.1862cm·a-1); that of volume appeared as B(0.00151m3·a-1)> M(0.00102m3·a-1)> LX(0.00090m3·a-1)> LT(0.00046m3·a-1)> LN(0.00044m3·a-1).④The stand volume of different types of natural swamp forests had the sequence that LX(153.213m3·hm-2)> LT(134.418m3·hm-2)> B(105.723m3·hm-2)> M(84.170m3·hm-2)>LN(57.230m3·hm-2), whereas the annual average volume showed that LX(3.563m3·hm-2·a-1), LT(3.537m3·hm-2·a-1) and M(3.507m3·hm-2·a-1) were almost equal, all bigger than B(2.782 m3·hm-2·a-1) and LN(1.396 m3·hm-2·a-1).⑤The biomass distribution of tree layer indicated that trunks>roots>branches>leaves, and trunk biomass of all swamp forests community accounted for a high proportion of tree layer biomass (>50%); the tree layer biomass of each community took a great proportion of its community biomass(92.07%~98.93%), which determined the sequence of community biomass showed as LX(134.45t·hm-2)> LT(117.32t·hm-2)> B(64.68t·hm-2)> M(57.45t·hm-2)> LN(37.01t·hm-2), and productivity presented as LX(3.13 t·hm-2·a-1)>LT(3.09t·hm-2·a-1)>(2.39 t·hm-2·a-1)> B(1.70 t·hm-2·a-1)>LN(0.90 t·hm-2·a-1).⑥The vegetation carbon density of different types of natural forest swamps almost was determined by tree layer, which led the vegetation carbon density appeared as LX(66.51t·hm-2)>LT(57.79t·hm-2)>B(31.69t·hm-2)>M(27.04t·hm-2)> LN(17.04t-hm"2), was respectively 2.75,2.39,1.31,1.12 and 0.70 times that of natural vegetation in Heilongjiang province. All the community except LN had rather high ability of carbon storage.
